Give them a break family enjoy an accessible break
The Oakleys were on holiday near Boscastle in North Cornwall with their son Stuart and their daughter Helen who has an incurable, inherited metabolic disorder called glutaric aciduria type I. Helen’s rare medical condition, along with the severe disability it caused, makes normal family holidays extremely difficult.
The layout of Pendowr Lodge, one of Farm & Cottage Holiday's accessible properties was extremely suitable for their daughter Helen's needs, she enjoyed her downstairs bedroom and slept well and it was also good for access to the shower room, all being on a flat level. The family really enjoyed the 'compactness' of the property which meant that they were never very far away from Helen should she call out or need help during the night.
Although beaches are always a no no for a wheelchair, they found the Eden Project encouragingly accessible and with the many harbours and cafes around to visit as well as many stopping points en route with awe inspiring views, they all had a fantastic time in Cornwall.
