The Devon Wildlife Trust partnership
During the summer we hosted a rockpool ramble which was a great success with over 60 people getting involved and from this month, staff from the Devon Wildlife Trust will be available to give talks about marine conservation to local clubs and groups thanks to our support.
The free talks are aimed at a wide range of marine users such as dive clubs and sailing clubs. Priority will go to groups in Plymouth and the South Hams but those in the wider South Devon areas should still contact the Devon Wildlife Trust.
Cat Andrews who runs Wembury Marine Centre on behalf of Devon Wildlife Trust said: "Marine conservation has moved on very quickly over the past couple of years and now with the Marine Act in place there are lots of opportunities for people to get involved in marine conservation. These talks have been set up with the kind support of Farm and Cottage Holidays and will cover all aspects of current marine legislation along with opportunities for clubs to do more to promote a healthy local marine environment."
Wembury Marine Centre is overseen by a partnership made up of Devon Wildlife Trust, Devon County Council, South Hams District Council and the National Trust, with support from the Wembury Advisory Group.
