Within minutes of leaving Gannel View, guests can be strolling along the headland with its breathtaking views of Fistral and Crantock beaches and walking along the vast sandy expanse of the world famous surfing beach of Fistral, or braving the Atlantic waves for surfing, body boarding, kayaking or simply a refreshing swim. Hop on a ferry (summer season only) to cross the Gannel Estuary to the National Trust owned Crantock beach with its amazing sand dunes, or take in the wildlife and scenery along the tidal Gannel Estuary. Pitch and putt is right on your door step and the enjoyable Newquay road train is close by taking you to many of Newquay's famous attractions including Newquay Zoo, Waterworld, Blue Reef Aquarium, several beaches and into the town centre which boasts a wealth of shops, pubs and restaurants on its numerous daily runs. There is also a hotel indoor pool open to public use just across the road from the property. Classed as the surfing capital of Britain, and offering 7 stunning, golden, sandy beaches, surfing is a must, with lifeguard patrolled beaches (in high season 10am-6pm ) and, with plenty of surf schools and equipment hire outlets, you will soon be fully kitted out and enjoying the Atlantic breakers. A visit to Newquay's picturesque harbour is a must, where you can take a boat trip round the bay, go for a day’s fishing, buy fresh fish, or tour the lifeboat station and meet the local fishermen! Whilst you are there, look out for the friendly resident seals that are always fun to watch! If you can tear yourself away, just along the coast is the picturesque Watergate Bay which is the setting for the ITV series 'Echo Beach' and also renowned for Jamie Oliver's ‘Fifteen’ Restaurant that is a must for any foodie, or simply enjoy a meal with fresh local produce and take in the dramatic scenery. Centrally located on the north coast with good road, rail and air links, Gannel View can be used as a stepping stone to tour the whole of the Cornish Peninsula should you get time. Gannel View offers TEN bedrooms, 9 of which enjoy en-suite facilities of shower, handbasin and WC and all well appointed with amazing views. On the ground floor there are three bedrooms: 1 double bedroom, 1 double with single bunk above, and 1 zip-and-link bedroom that can be either two singles or one queen size double. On this floor there is also a separate bathroom with a spa bath and WC. On the first floor there are: 2 double bedrooms both with flat screen TV and Freeview, 1 twin room and 3 further spacious zip-and-link bedrooms, one of which has a flat screen TV, DVD and Freeview which interconnects to 1 bunk bedroom to create a family room and one of which has an extra single bed as well, also with flat screen TV, DVD and Freeview. This floor also has a separate WC. Leading from the large, light and airy entrance hall, Gannel View benefits from excellent social areas to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. A spacious lounge with ample comfy seating, with a large flat screen TV, DVD, SkyTV and tables in the large picture window offer the flexibility of sitting with the group and watching the world pass by. The dining area can be found through an archway just off the lounge and, with its large oak table, offers the ideal space to enjoy family or celebration meals. The patio doors make this a light, airy room in which to linger or perhaps you would prefer to sit out in the enclosed paved area which leads out from the dining room. A breakfast bar area also leads off the lounge and is ideal for that quick snack or more formal eating. The kitchen, which leads off this area with ample space to prepare the evening's banquet, offers 2 large gas cookers, dishwasher, 2 microwaves and an American-style fridge/freezer. There is a further preparation area leading off the kitchen. Adjacent to the preparation area is another lounge with TV and games console, plenty of books and board games to pass the time when you are relaxing in the house, and a further shower room with a WC adjacent. Laundry area with washing machine and tumble dryer. A pool table is available and this is situated in the garage. The enclosed garden, to the rear of the house, has a BBQ and seating and a few toys to keep the younger ones entertained. All in all, a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the views.
