Most of the time our holiday properties book out for the Full week (7 nights), however there are times during some Off Peak periods or last minute where Short Breaks may be arranged with certain properties. They can be either 3, 4, 5 or 6 nights and are priced accordingly. Please remember that all short break enquiries have to be checked prior to booking, simply find your perfect cottage, get in touch and we will help finalise your enquiry either email or phone our Reservation Team.

About the property

UNIQUE 19TH CENTURY HISTORICAL PROPERTY SLEEPS 8+2

This property was originally part of the Grenville Estate belonging to Lt. Col Carteret Thynne and Lady Thynne, prominent historical figures in Kilkhampton.

Dating back to the 19th century, the property is situated in the heart of a holiday park. There are exposed beams, oak panelling and mullioned windows throughout with an impressive galleried landing and reception area complete with a re-enactment mural of the Battle of Stamford Hill. A short stroll will take you to the village centre with pubs, shops and takeaways, you will also be ideally placed for enjoying the many sheltered coves and long sandy surfing beaches which the North coast is renowned for. There are also plenty of attractions to enjoy close by which include The Milky Way near Bideford, Bude with it's canal, Splashpool, indoor and outdoor bowling, tennis courts, putting greens and much more. Leisure facilities: the use of the restaurant, bar and entertainment facilities at the adjoining Penstowe Manor is free. Daily/Weekly passes for the indoor swimming, squash, bowls and other indoor sports facilities may be purchased at reception.

The accommodation is wheelchair friendly and mainly arranged on the ground floor offering FOUR bedrooms: 1 double with TV/video and en-suite shower room with WC, and 1 further double and 2 twins. Bathroom: family size with roll-top bath, shower cubicle and WC, and a further separate WC. Lounge: feature lounge with telephone, TV, DVD and woodburner (1st basket of logs free). Stairs leading to large mezzanine area with small bar, 2 additional single beds (available on request), TV, DVD, seating at one end and a desk, table and chairs at the other end. Kitchen/breakfast room: with range cooker, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine. Utility: shared tumble drying facilities 100 yards. Outside: small enclosed patio area with seating. Amenities: parking for 2 cars. Bed linen, electric and central heating included. Wi-fi available. Limited towels available for hire. 1 dog welcome. Location: beach 3 miles, bar adjacent, shop under 1 mile. Arrival: 4pm.
