WEST WING OF A 16TH CENTURY MANOR HOUSE

Trevadlock was an ancient Saxon homestead when its river, the Lynher, formed the boundary between Wessex and the Kingdom of Cornwall. The current manor house dates from the sixteenth Century and is steeped in history, boasting amongst other features its own Celtic Cross. Largely undiscovered, this is the true unspoilt rural Cornwall, which has hardly changed in living memory. Meadows roll southwards from the manor, down to the winding, tree-lined river. Beyond the river steep woodland skirts the craggy tors which line the eastern side of the moor. The peace and tranquility of this setting belie its convenience as a holiday base. Five minutes from the A30, yet out of sight and hearing of this, the main road bisecting Cornwall, travel both East and West is quick and simple, as is access to North and South coasts. The Eden Project is within easy reach, as are Cotehele, Lanhydrock and other National Trust jewels. A variety of excellent golf courses are close by including the championship course at St Mellion. Sandy beaches, rocky coves, surfing and sailing centres are less than a 30 minute drive. The excellent shopping facilities of the delightful historic market town of Launceston are under 10 minutes drive away. There is also a wide selection of appealing local pubs and restaurants close to hand.

Trevadlock Manor's West Wing is beautifully furnished. The large, comfortable drawing room, lit by Georgian windows, has a magnificent granite fireplace perfect for having a roaring fire when necessary. The large, pretty, master bedroom is light and fresh and boasts its own sunny balcony and private bathroom. The other 2 bedrooms, both twins, have handsome French wooden beds, the first has an antique French double bed as well as a single, and all the rooms have interesting artwork. Subject to availability breakfast and/or dinner in the Manor can be arranged. Pre-ordered groceries available. Parking in the Manor's private courtyard. Crisp cotton bed linen, towels and electricity are included. Heating is subject to seasonal supplement, dependent on the amount used. Dogs by arrangement. Regret no smoking in the property. Nearest pub 1.5 miles, shop 1.5 miles and nearest beach 12 miles. There is an abundance of great walks, excellent local riding and fishing. Secure early luggage facility available, arrival time 4pm.
