Praa Sands lies between Helston and Penzance overlooking Mounts Bay. This small coastal village has a long wide sandy beach that is perfect for families. South facing it is a sunbather’s paradise as Praa sands achieves long hours of sunshine and boasting large waves for the area it attracts surfers from around the county. Excellent access to the coastal footpath provides breathtaking walks. The village itself is a huddle of 20th century buildings and Pengersick Castle is said to be one of the most haunted buildings in the land. Regular ghost hunting pursuits take place especially at Halloween or Christmas. There are several cafes and restaurants in and around Praa Sands and adjacent to the beach is the cricketer Chris Old’s restaurant and fish and chip shop. A nine-hole links golf course locally welcomes non-members. |
