Situated on the summit of a hill overlooking the vast views of the river axe and its surroundings is the unspoilt and pleasant Devon market town of Axminster. However one characteristic that sets this country house from others, is the Chaucer period fireplace, spanning a massive 22 feet wide and 7 feet high, this is thought to be England’s largest fireplace.
