The local village of Iddesleigh is 2 miles away and offers the award winning pub, The Duke of York, where Michael Morpurgo, the author of the acclaimed film War Horse, was first inspired to write the book sitting in front of the fire chatting with the First World War veteran and local man Wilfred Ellis. If you have time to venture further afield, there are many local attractions within a short drive including Dartmoor and Exmoor, with Lynton and Lynmouth to the north, Exmouth and Sidmouth to the south and lovely beaches of Bude and Widemouth to the west. The Big Sheep, The Milky Way, RHS Rosemoor Gardens, coarse fishing at Stafford Moor and Dartington Crystal are also a short drive. Cyclists and walkers are both well catered for in the area with the famous Tarka Trail within easy reach and farm walks. Leisure facilities: the patio area offers a private hot tub. Play facilities: children can enjoy the play area with swings, slide and climbing frame.
The first-floor accommodation can be accessed by two staircases offering SIX bedrooms: all with TV, first staircase leads to large family bedroom with king-size and single bed, 1 twin room. 1 king-size with en-suite bath, shower and WC. This room is situated so that it can be accessed by both sides of the farmhouse via doors on each side of the room, these can be open or closed depending on your party make-up. The second staircase takes you to 1 master bedroom with king-size bed and en-suite bathroom with P bath, shower over and WC and 1 further twin room. Downstairs you will find 1 large double (up one step) with quiet seating area, perfect for the elderly or those needing added accessibility. Bathroom: up the first staircase, with 3/4 bath, quadrant shower and WC. Up the second staircase opposite the twin room with bath, shower and WC. Downstairs large bathroom with large walk in shower and WC. Lounge: one step up into the first of 2 lounges, offering TV, DVD, cosy woodburner and patio door to the garden.
