The cottage has recently been lovingly restored to a high standard and is located in Devon’s rolling heartland, on the edge of the friendly village of Morchard Bishop, just a short stroll from the old village coaching inn renowned for its cuisine and real ales. The cottage offers a peaceful, relaxing holiday base perfect for exploring the area.
Right on the Two Moors Way, the area is famous for its walks with over 40 designated footpaths from the village. The owners’ Alpaca herd is close by and visitors are welcome to say hello. They make great subjects for photographers and artists as does the surrounding countryside. Dartmoor and Exmoor are within easy reach as are numerous National Trust properties and RHS gardens including Rosemoor, Knightshayes and Killerton House, to name but a few. There are beaches within a short drive as is the historic cathedral city of Exeter with its excellent shops, restaurants and entertainment. With far reaching views over the fields to distant Dartmoor, you can enjoy a glass of wine on your private patio after your busy day.
Retaining much original charm and character, the accommodation offers ONE bedroom: king-size double. Bathroom: with roll-top bath, shower cubicle and WC. Lounge: cosy, with TV, Freeview, DVD and inglenook with woodburner (basket of logs included). Kitchen/diner: well-equipped with cooker, fridge, washer/dryer and microwave. Outside: south west facing patio with seating and BBQ. Amenities: allocated parking space. Bed linen, towels, electric and electric heating included. Regret no pets. Additional info: for those arriving by train, arrangements can be made to pick up and return to Morchard Road (Tarka Line) railway station approximately 2 miles from the property. Regret no children.
