Once you have reached the bottom of the main street then treated yourself again to some of the tastiest ice cream around. Take a minute to gaze out over the harbour and way beyond the Atlantic Ocean with distant views to Lundy Island. This is the perfect time to sit back, relax, and watch the many trawlers unload their catch in the village’s thriving fishing industry. For the historian in you, take a browse through the villages maritime museum and unearth the past rescue attempts from the local lifeboat station. Once you have descended to the harbour, there are only two ways to get back to the summit. For the athlete in you, trek back up through this historic village and its cobbled streets or for something a bit different then why not get a 4 x 4 ride back to the top where you can explore the delights of the Clovelly visitor centre. With Clovelly being predominately near the A39 trunk road, this is the perfect base to explore the delights of the North Devon and North Cornwall coastline, and its many attractions. |
