This quaint self-contained wing of the listed 16th century farmhouse retains much of its original charm and character including exposed beams and a traditional exposed stone fireplace. Nestled in a peaceful setting on the edge of a tranquil traditional hamlet an ideal base for touring the whole of North Devon.
Based in a lovely location, your stay can be as active or restful as you would like. Enjoy strolling the local footpaths and lanes. The coastline can be reached in 30 minutes, by car, offering numerous sheltered coves and long sandy surfing beaches. Fishing is possible nearby and explore Exmoor and Dartmoor with its rugged and spectacular scenery. The market town of Torrington, a 10 minute drive and offers shops, pubs, restaurants, Dartington Crystal, RHS Rosemoor Gardens and 1646 Civil War Museum. In the evenings visit one of many local family pubs serving good food.
The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: 1 with king-size four-poster bed and sofa bed and 1 twin. Bathroom: with shower over bath and WC. Lounge: with TV, DVD, woodburner effect electric fire and various books, games, videos and DVDs. Kitchen/diner: with cooker, microwave, fridge and small TV. Utility room: with ample room for dirty wellies, dog baskets and storage space, washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. Outside: large fenced lawn garden with beautiful country views and plenty of space for children or dogs to play and separate sheltered patio with a children's playhouse and games, BBQ and seating. Amenities: parking for 2 cars. Bed linen, towels, electric and night storage heating included. Up to 3 dogs welcome, dog baskets, dog towels and identity tags provided. Additional info: various sizes of wellies and waterproof coats are provided for your use. As may be expected in a cottage of this age, some of the doorways have lower head room.
