It is an ideal base from which to explore all that the North Devon coast has to offer. You can make use of the many surf schools, enjoy a round of golf at Royal North Devon Golf Course, go horse riding at the Follyfoot riding centre, play a set or two of tennis on the 4 public tennis courts, or walk along the coastal path and take in the spectacular sea views towards Bucks Mills, Clovelly, or Instow. Nearby family theme parks such as The Big Sheep and The Milky Way offer a great day out for all ages, both having indoor play areas should the weather be wet. The larger town of Bideford has a wider selection of shops, pubs and restaurants and the neighbouring smaller fishing village of Appledore with its bustling quayside, quaint little streets and maritime connections are well worth a visit.
