This superb detached cottage offers visitors an idyllic place to stay on the beautiful North Devon coast. The cottage is set on the edge of the Portledge Estate and only a 10 minute drive from Bideford. It has been renovated to an extremely high standard with many character features such as beams and exposed stonework sitting alongside more modern innovations such as underfloor heating and contemporary fixtures and fittings. Approached through narrow country lanes, the cottage is set back in a quiet spot and has its own enclosed garden with a raised sitting area offering the most gorgeous views over Bideford Bay and beyond. Ideal for drinks on those lazy summer evenings or even for a mid-morning coffee. There is much to see and do in the area. For the energetic, you could hire bikes or walk along the Tarka Trail, stopping off at various watering holes along the way, or join one of the various coastal footpaths which take in excellent views and will help to build up your appetite. Sandy beaches at Westward Ho! or Bude are ideal for surfing enthusiasts and both beaches have the facility for the hiring of wetsuits and lessons if required. The cliffside village of Clovelly is a must see. Wander down the cobbled streets to the pretty harbour where you can indulge yourself with superb local food. Freshly caught fish is nearly always available or for those with a sweet tooth perhaps a traditional Devon cream tea. All-in-all, Sea Cottage offers couples or friends a conveniently situated yet private location in which to relax and enjoy all that North Devon has to offer.
The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom, each having their own en-suite bathroom, fully fitted with bath and hand-held shower attachment, WC and heated hand rail. Downstairs the living area is open plan with a cosy lounge area with underfloor heating and feature fireplace with woodburner (a generous supply of logs included), Freeview TV/DVD together with comfy seating. Kitchen/diner well fitted with electric oven, hob and hood, washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave. Outside there is a large enclosed stone/gravelled area with recently planted trees and shrubs which leads to the elevated sitting area with views over the Bay. Ample parking for 2 cars within the gated garden area. Bed linen, towels, electric and central heating included. Regret no children or babies, smoking or pets.
