This charater-filled old Fisherman's cottage complete with low level doorways and ceilings exposed beams and steep cottage style staircase is situated in the oldest part of this historic and very picturesque fishing village of Appledore, renowned for its tidal estuary setting with its brightly painted cottages running down to the lifeboat house.
The cottage is located in a long narrow lane, just a short walk to the waterfront and quayside with an array of restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops. The art museum and Maritime museum also hide amongst the narrow and winding streets of this quaint fishing village. Take a seat on the quay and watch the boats sail by or venture farther afield, this character cottage is perfectly situated to enjoy the best of North Devon and Cornwall's numerous and varied attractions. Take a walk along the coastal path that follows the rugged coastline or cycle along the Tarka Trial for a refreshing day out. If you prefer to visit beach then Westward Ho!, with its 2 miles of golden sand and surfing, is under a mile away. The steep cobbled village of Clovelly is a short drive away, slightly further is RHS Rosemoor Gardens and the lush green National Parks and the wilderness of Exmoor. For the keen golfer the Royal North Devon Golf club (the oldest links in England) is just over 1 mile away. Unwind for the evening and enjoy and glass of wine in the enclosed Mediterranean courtyard.
The cottage is a real home from home, suitable for couples or small families. The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: which inter-connect with a low doorway and are reached by a steep cottage style staircase, 1 king-size double with TV and Freeview and 1 twin. Bathroom: accessed up a few steps and through a low doorway with shower over bath and WC and handbasin. Additional outside WC. Lounge: with TV/DVD and hi-fi. Dining room: spacious room with solid wood floor and access to staircase. Kitchen: accessed up a few stwith low level doorway and ceilings is compact with electric cooker and gas hob, fridge, microwave and stereo. Utility room: accessed via the external courtyard with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer. Outside: door leads out to an enclosed Mediterranean style courtyard with table and chairs. Amenities: roadside parking close by or weekly parking ticket available from nearby car parks (a short walk). Bed linen, electric and central heating included.
