The apartment is approached by a slate covered stairway which it is believed was cut from the rockface around the year 800 with the house having been built around it in around 1760. Smugglers Steps is situated in the oldest part of Ilfracombe and the street leads directly down to the charming natural harbour. It is also within walking distance of all of Ilfracombe's amenities and attractions including its flower-strewn shopping streets, lazy pavement cafes and a wealth of different places to eat including the new harbourside restaurant that is owned by the artist Damien Hirst. Explore the seasonal wonders of Exmoor National Park, the rugged North Devon Atlantic coastline and the Blue Flag golden sands of Woolacombe, Croyde and Saunton Sands, which are only 10 minutes by car.

Family bathroom, with WC and corner bath with shower over. The lounge, approached via a cottage style staircase, has glimpses of the sea and includes TV, DVD and hi-fi. Just off the lounge is a comfy snug area, with futon providing extra seating/sleeping for 2, this area also has books and quiet games making it ideal as a child’s lounge. Outside (approached via narrow steps) you will find a suntrap roof terrace with garden furniture and distant views of the harbour and beyond.
