Nestling in the peaceful countryside in the grounds of the owners' stunning thatched cottage, this tastefully renovated single-storey property is full of character which makes it an ideal retreat for couples. As well as the owner's cats, chickens and ducks, there is an adjoining field with a horse and grazing sheep.
The village pub, which offers good home cooking, is within easy walking distance and you will be a 10 minute drive from the stunning coastline, perfect for a cliff-top walk. The historic port town of Bideford, offering shopping, pubs and restaurants, the fishing village of Appledore and the seaside town of Westward Ho! with its sandy beach, are all within a 10-15 minute drive. Visit the nearby famous fishing village of Clovelly or Bucks Mills with its pebble beach. There are lots of leisure activities to entertain all including golf, various water-sports including surfing and windsurfing, horse riding, walking and fishing. Attractions in the area include RHS Rosemoor Gardens, Tapeley Park and Gardens, Dartington Crystal and numerous National Trust attractions including Lundy Island.
Outside: shared use of 1 acre garden with garden furniture and BBQ. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen, towels, electric and electric heating included. Regret no smoking. Additional info: regret no cot, but guests are welcome to bring their own travel cot. Washing line and bike storage in shed available for guests to use. Guests may also purchase fresh produce including bread and cakes, free range eggs, fruit and vegetables when available. A picnic basket is also available should guests wish to use it. Location: beaches 10 minutes drive, shop 3 miles, pub walking distance.
The accommodation offers ONE bedroom: double room with king-size bed. Bathroom: with shower over bath and WC. Lounge/diner: light and spacious at the heart of the barn, featuring wooden flooring, beams and woodburner (first basket of logs included), TV with Freeview, DVD and hi-fi and additional sofa bed to sleep 2 extra people if required. Some steps lead from the living area to the other rooms. Kitchen: with flagstone floors, oven, hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment, washing machine and dishwasher, an adjoining store room offers freezer and tumble dryer. Outside: lovely garden to the side with flagstone and rear of the cottage. 2 dogs welcome, however must be kept on leads at all times. Arrival: 3:00pm.
Dogs are charged at £20.00 per week per dog or £3.00 per day per dog for short breaks.
