These 2 delightful Canadian-style lodges are situated in a beautiful hidden valley yet only a 5 minute drive to the village of Buckland Brewer with its excellent village pub renowned for its superb food, and only a 15 minute drive to the spectacular North Devon coastline with clifftop walks and vast sandy beaches.
The lodges are situated right on the water's edge and offer tranquil views across the water, where a variety of wildlife can be observed. Kingfishers are frequent visitors as are ducks, woodpeckers swifts and swallows. Try your hand at fishing on 1 of the 2 lakes, one stocked with carp and tench, the other with trout. Visitors can BBQ on the decked veranda with a glass of wine whilst catching the sun, or hop into your own private hot tub and just chill. Alternatively why not stroll down to the island picnic area accessed via a wooden walkway or explore the 6 acres of pretty woodland which is particularly beautiful in the spring and early summer. New childrens play area with swings, slide and small climbing wall (suitable for ages 3-11). The land is bordered by a small river therefore extra care should be taken with children. Free access to all of the land and lakes.
Both lodges are identical and benefit from easy low-level entrances making them ideal for those with walking difficulties or the partially disabled. Double glazed and centrally heated throughout. Full length windows in both bedrooms with safety openers and fly nets, giving great views of the lakes, even from bed! Spacious family shower room with WC and useful make up area. Visitors can park next to each lodge. Bed linen and electric included. Towels available for hire. Regret no pets. Beach 9.5 miles, shops 5 miles, pub/small shop in the village.
The superb accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: 1 king-size double with TV/DVD and en-suite bathroom with shower attachment and 1 twin room with TV/DVD. Large open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with laminate flooring throughout. Lounge area has comfy leather sofas, TV, DVD and Freeview and contemporary-style fireplace with electric fire. French doors open onto the veranda with seating. Private decked area with hot tub, gazebo, trellis and bar area with excellent views of the lakes. Double folding bed in lounge area. Dining area has modern oak table with leather high-backed dining chairs and hi-fi. Kitchen is well equipped with electric oven, hob and hood, large American-style fridge/freezer with drinks dispenser, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and many stylish extras.
