You will be able to go on a boat trip around the River Dart, whose wooded banks have provided the tropical setting of many a movie scene. For those more energetic, there are also walks of varying distance, visits to National Trust gardens and golf and sea angling. The South Hams area is one of the most picturesque parts of South Devon, with sheltered sandy coves and beaches. Paignton and Torquay are also within easy reach and offers a theatre, Living Coasts, Kents Cavern and the Model Village. There is a marina where you can watch the yachts, hop on a river cruise or have a go at river or sea fishing on one of the many boat trips on offer.
