They can be either 3, 4, 5 or 6 nights and are priced accordingly. Please remember that all short break enquiries have to be checked prior to booking, simply find your perfect cottage, get in touch and we will help finalise your enquiry either email or phone our Reservation Team .

Packing a doggy bag for holiday

Water – If you’re travelling to your destination in warm weather, it can be useful to take water in a thermos rather than a plastic bottle. This will ensure the water stays cold. Adding a couple of ice-cubes can also help.

Basket/bed and blanket – Not only will his own bedding make him feel at home, but as dogs must not be allowed to sit or lie on chairs or beds in the property, it is important that he has his own space to relax in.

Collar and lead – make sure his collar carries your details and take a spare lead just in case you lose one or it brakes. It’s also handy to keep the spare lead in the boot of your car…just in case it’s needed en route.

Food – either enough for the whole trip or a bit to tide you over until you do a food shop for your stay. Also remember to take food and plenty of water for the journey.

Food and water bowls – Our selection of dog friendly cottages cannot provide food and water bowls for its four-legged visitors, so please ensure you bring your dog’s own bowls with you. It’s also useful to keep a spare bowl in your boot for the journey down.

Food Mat – If your dog likes to tuck-in and make a mess whilst eating, having a plastic mat to place under its bowl can be useful.

Newspaper/Kitchen Roll/Wipes – in case of any accidents en-route.

Grooming kit – depending on the breed of dog, a grooming kit might come in handy after a long walk through the countryside. A brush is always handy to untangle their coat after walkies!

Sunscreen – Whilst a long walk in the sun is all you can hope for on holiday, make sure you protect your dog’s nose or any pale pigmented skin with pet-friendly sunblock.

Towel – a must if they’ve been having fun on the beach or have returned with muddy paws.

Medication and first aid kit – travel sickness pills, any normal medication and items like a bandage, wipes and tweezers in case of small accidents.

Cage – Please check to see if the property you’re staying in requests dogs must be kept in their cage when left alone in the property.

Waterproofs/Coat – take into account the time of year you’re travelling, as your dog might benefit from having its winter warmer or waterproofs.

Paperwork – including micro-chip identification number and insurance details.

Toys and treats – tennis balls or a Frisbee for a day at the beach, toys to keep them entertained whilst indoors and treats; a good chewy bone for when you get home!

Poop bags – a must have for all responsible dog owners.

Something we’ve missed? We would love to hear about any other items you think should be included in a dog’s luggage. Just get in touch.
