Short Breaks

Most of the time our holiday properties book out for the Full week (7 nights), however there are times during some Off Peak periods or last minute where Short Breaks may be arranged with certain properties. They can be either 3, 4, 5 or 6 nights and are priced accordingly. Please remember that all short break enquiries have to be checked prior to booking, simply find your perfect cottage, get in touch and we will help finalise your enquiry either email or phone our Reservation Team .

Our offices are open every day.

Planning your dog’s holiday

The beauty of a self catering holiday is the freedom to bring your dog and fortunately many holiday cottage owners welcome them. With the right preparation, your dog will enjoy a holiday as much as you. We’ve put together some helpful suggestions to help you make your holiday the perfect trip for your four-legged friend.

Getting there

Travelling to your destination will involve plenty of stops, so this might mean avoiding the motorway to make comfort breaks a little easier and more interesting for everyone. Leave a good space for your dog to travel in with enough room for him to sit, stand and lie down in comfort.

It’s best to travel in the morning or late afternoon in summer months to avoid the heat of the day, and to avoid peak travel times so as not to get stuck in heavy traffic. If your dog isn’t a good long distance traveller, make sure you feed him well in advance of setting off, keep the car well ventilated and take towels and cleaning things in case of an accident. You may also want to speak to your vet about travel sickness pills.

On arrival

Let him explore his new surroundings by showing him around the house and garden, and establish ground rules about where he can or can’t go. Bring his bed, food, treats, food and water bowls and a favourite toy or two to make him feel at home. Once you have unpacked and settled in, take him for a wonder to search out nearby places for a quick walk in the morning and last thing before bed.

Enjoy your stay

Plan your days around activities you can do together like exploring the countryside or dog friendly beaches, visiting dog-friendly attractions and stopping in at pubs and eateries where dogs are welcome. Dogs should never be left alone in cars, especially in hot weather, so think carefully about where you are going.

For peace of mind, it is worth looking up where the nearest vet is. Make sure your pet insurance covers your dog while you are on holiday – and if you don’t have pet insurance, it might be worth taking some out for your trip.

In order to keep going this wonderful provision for dog owners, naturally there are a few rules. While in the property, dogs must be under strict control at all times and should never be left alone. Please bring your dog’s bed or basket for sleeping in as dogs must not lie on beds or chairs. Leave the property as you found it – fouling on the lawn (or anywhere for that matter!) must be cleaned up without delay and hair must be cleared up before departing.
