Most of the time our holiday properties book out for the Full week (7 nights), however there are times during some Off Peak periods or last minute where Short Breaks may be arranged with certain properties. They can be either 3, 4, 5 or 6 nights and are priced accordingly. Please remember that all short break enquiries have to be checked prior to booking, simply find your perfect cottage, get in touch and we will help finalise your enquiry either email or phone our Reservation Team .

The South West has some of the country’s most spectacular sandy beaches, perfect for a traditional British break; so whether you’re looking to build sand castles with your children or help them explore fascinating rock pools, our coastlines offer some of the safest beaches in the world.

Beaches great for kids and sandcastles

Award-winning Blackpool Sands near Dartmouth is a delightful South Devon beach. Privately managed, its tree lined cove, golden beach and clear water rivals some of the most popular beaches in the Med. A perfect family destination, in peak season Blackpool Sands is cleaned daily; it’s not only the perfect location for many a sand sculpture, but features convenient amenities, such as toilets and The Venues, a popular beach café.

Nearby Teignmouth is also a popular beach with families, there’s paddling-friendly waters and plenty of nearby attractions to enjoy. Its long sandy beach stretches all the way from the mouth of the River Teign towards Dawlish, creating a vast expanseof safe, child friendly coastline.

In North Devon Saunton Sands beach is not only breathtakingly beautiful, but a bustling family destination. Stretching over three miles, its vast size offers plenty of room for games - and with large dunes situated behind, there’s not only some natural shelter from the elements, but plenty of scope for even more sandy fun!

Further along this stunning sweep of coastline, Westward Ho! is a thriving resort that’s perfect for families wanting a combination of great facilities and the perfect environment for child-friendly play.

There’s even more to explore in Cornwall, as Sennen Cove is a favoured destination for families in search of child-friendly draws. The Pedn-men-du Cliff serves as a barrier, protecting Sennen Cove from the westerlies off the Atlantic Ocean and in the summer, the sand pools are perfect for safe, toddler bathing.

Another Cornish beach that benefits from great local amenities, as well as the safety of a well-protected cove is Portreath. Mainly sandy, with some shingle its facilities include a first aid post, disabled facilities, lost child centre, café, restaurant, shops and surf life-saving club.

Head up the coast to Dorset and you’ve even more to choose from. A stand-out destination, enduringly popular with families is Weymouth. Fantastic for swimming, its shallow waters are a safe-haven for families, whilst the various attractions offer children the traditional entertainment of a bygone age. Steeped in charm, yet practical too, Weymouth isa wonderful family-friendly beach.
