Short Breaks

Most of the time our holiday properties book out for the Full week (7 nights), however there are times during some Off Peak periods or last minute where Short Breaks may be arranged with certain properties. They can be either 3, 4, 5 or 6 nights and are priced accordingly. Please remember that all short break enquiries have to be checked prior to booking, simply find your perfect cottage, get in touch and we will help finalise your enquiry either email or phone our Reservation Team .

Our offices are open every day.

Travelling tips for your holiday

Preparation, preparation, preparation…

When travelling to your holiday destination, it can be useful to keep all baby and child essentials such as nappies, spare clothes, food and drinks, in a separate bag so you don’t have to unpack a suitcase to find something mid-journey. It’s also worth finding out what equipment your accommodation might offer to save overloading the car – many of Farm & Cottage Holiday’s range of family friendly cottages feature useful extras such as cots, highchairs and stair gates, which can be arranged prior to your arrival.

Driving at night can be a good option too, as kids are likely to sleep and their routine won’t be disturbed - but for daytime travel a few toys and books will help pass the time or perhaps a bit of cow spotting? Asking your child to assist your packing by choosing some of their favourite toys for their travel bag, can also provide added comfort en route.

Holiday harmony…

Once at your holiday cottage read up about the local and surrounding areas to find out about suitable activities for your party of travellers. Many local tourist information centres provide in-depth information, or another great way of discovering popular local attractions is through local restaurants and family-friendly pubs.

If you’re planning on walking or cycling whilst on holiday, remember that young children won’t want to focus on travelling from A to B. Instead, why not allow time for exploring or perhaps plan a family challenge along the way e.g. cow spotting or counting sheep.

Another great way of achieving holiday harmony is to get children involved and ask them to help you prepare and plan some holiday activities, by exploring the local maps and fliers picked up along your travels. If you’ve more than one child, giving each of them a turn to make choice from the activities list, will add to the excitement!

There’s always plenty going on in the South West for all ages - our website is packed with information on destinations, attractions and events for every location and we’re also here to help with any questions you might have about your chosen holiday – just give us a call.
