Lynton & Lynmouth

Based amongst a dramatic coastline and a backdrop of Exmoor beauty, Lynton & Lynmouth is one of the most fantastic and magnificent places to the eye. With Lynmouth located by the mouth of the River Lyn and Lynton based at the peak of the gorge, both these small towns are linked by the famous Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway.

Okehampton

Okehampton, a medieval Devon town just to the North of Dartmoor, is an ancient market town, which developed through the wool trade. Nearby Dartmoor offers vast space and wilderness to explore with rugged tors and several unspoilt moorland villages.

Tavistock

Recently voted the best market town in Britain, the ancient stannery town of Tavistock, lies by the River Tavy, on the South West border of Dartmoor National Park. With its striking stone architecture, vast range of practical and specialist’s shops, market, riverside park, and theatre, Tavistock is the perfect base for you and your family to explore the town and the whole of the westcountry.

Axminster

Situated on the summit of a hill overlooking the vast views of the river axe and its surroundings is the unspoilt and pleasant Devon market town of Axminster. Famous for its fine carpets and flooring since 1755 when the industry was originally started here, Axminster has gained a name for itself the world over for its synonymous top notch floor wear.

Bovey Tracey

Being close to Dartmoor, Bovey Tracey is an excellent destination for walking and horse riding, with Yarner Nature Reserve and Haytor only two miles away offering an array of encapsulating views and wildlife. The area attracts many visitors who wish to seek a slower pace of life, and have time to absorb the natural beauty and friendly atmosphere offered.

Boscastle

Boscastle is a traditional picturesque village hidden in a steep sided valley where the river Valency and Jordan meet and enter the beautiful natural harbour. The village green is the focal point for the whole village with summer fetes and fairs. Within the harbour area are craft & gift shops, a former watermill, tea gardens and a Museum of Witchcraft.

Bodmin

Bodmin is an excellent base from which to explore Bodmin Moor, which has now been designated as an area of outstanding beauty. A haven for birds and wildlife it is a delightful area to walk and explore.

Lands End

With awe-inspiring cliff top scenery and spectacular views to Longships and Wolf Rock lighthouses, Lands End, mainland Britain’s most westerly point, is the most visited outdoor attraction in Cornwall. Here 200 ft high granite cliffs jut out of the Atlantic Ocean. On a clear day it is even possible to see the Isles of Scilly some 28 miles away.

Lizard Peninsular

Enchantingly beautiful at any time of year, Lizard Point, on the Lizard Peninsula, is the most southerly point of mainland Cornwall and is almost surrounded by sea. The village of Lizard is approximately half a mile from the point.

Wellington

This small traditional country town nestles in a valley between the Blackdown Hills and the River Tone. The market town of Wellington has a good selection of shops and amenities with the Bristol/Exeter railway running through the parish. Its location is perfect for exploring the fascinating counties of both Devon and Somerset with the border being just five miles away.
