From the harbour at Boscastle you can explore the beautiful surrounding area with it’s ancient woods and the site of a Norman castle. For unrivalled views of the rugged coastline take a walk along the quayside to the lookout.
A short trip along the coast will take you to the nearest beach at Crackington Haven, a small, sheltered sand and shingle beach surrounded by high cliffs. Two further larger beaches to the South are Bossiney Cove and Trebarwith Strand.
A boat trip from the harbour can take you down the coast to Long Island. During the breeding season puffins and the occasional seal may make an appearance. More far-reaching sea trips can take you wreck fishing.
Old inns such as the Napoleon, dating from the 16th century, and the Cobweb once a warehouse, are both welcoming and full of character.
