Once an isolated fishing community Newquay still has an unspoilt harbour which bustles with activity.
Fistral Bay is Newquay’s largest and most popular beach, famous for surfing competitions and festivals. In August more than 200 International surfers compete in the World Championships, giving top Cornish surfers the chance to take on World class competition on their local breakers.
Great Western, Harbour and Towan beaches are all good family beaches with sandy coves and safe sheltered areas for bathing. Watergate Bay is a privately owned bay with two miles of golden sands, often frequented by surfers, windsurfers and kite surfers.
The conveniently located local airport has frequent services to and from many UK destinations, thus saving long hours of travel by road.
