The warm climate of the Peninsula has led to some of the most specialised flora of any area in Britain, especially an abundant growth of the sub-tropical vegetation the Cornish Heath.
Locally grown produce and locally caught fish are served in many of the restaurants, pubs and hotels around The Lizard.
There are a wealth of pretty coves to explore, either on foot or by car, each one with it’s own particular charm. The picturesque fishing village of Cadgwith, to the East of The Lizard, offers a small shingle cove and is very popular with walkers. Fishing trips can also be arranged from here. Also nearby is Porthleven, a small working harbour with restaurants serving locally caught crab, lobster and mackerel.
