Offering abounding views across a dramatic coastline, Sennen Cove is a favoured destination of surfers, photographers and equestrians, who appreciate breath-taking views as they ride along the coastal path.
An historical fishing village, Sennen still displays signs of its former bustling industry, with lobster pots nestled along the shoreline and a small fleet of fishing boats still in use. Steeped in a rich history of folklore and legends, the area is rumoured to be frequented by an abundance of ghosts!
Legend also tells of the "Sennen Whopper" a large Piskie (mythical Celtic creature) that warned fishermen of impending doom, by whooping and thrashing in the water ahead of large storms…However, on one occasion two fishermen managed to make their way out to sea through thick and treacherous mist, but neither they nor the "Whopper" were ever seen again.
Sennen is an area brimming with exciting local destinations, which are perfect for visiting holidaymakers. There's a wonderful range of local pubs, but it is the Beach Restaurant that offers the best views across the bay. And if it's a dramatic sea view that you're after, the incredible open-air Minack Theatre is also within easy reach.
