St Ives is also home to the World famous Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Gardens and during the September Festival which is a two week art, music and literacy extravaganza you may even meet the current crop of artists.
The sweeping St Ives Bay, which is a proud member of ‘The Most Beautiful Bays in the World Club’, boasts two of the country’s finest beaches, Porthmeor and Porthminster. At low tide the bay offers over two miles of golden sand and both beaches have Blue Flag status. For the more energetic Porthmeor is a popular surfing beach whereas Porthminster will provide a haven for sun worshippers and sandcastle builders! Out of season the clement weather means you can still enjoy a stroll along the cliffs around the bay or be tempted onto the beach.
With the arrival of the railway in Victorian times, St Ives rapidly gained a reputation as one of our favourite holiday destinations and remains so to this day with a wide range of beautiful holiday cottages and luxury apartments available for your choice.
