Most of the time our holiday properties book out for the Full week (7 nights), however there are times during some Off Peak periods or last minute where Short Breaks may be arranged with certain properties. They can be either 3, 4, 5 or 6 nights and are priced accordingly. Please remember that all short break enquiries have to be checked prior to booking, simply find your perfect cottage, get in touch and we will help finalise your enquiry either email or phone our Reservation Team .

Great Torrington holidays

An ancient settlement and market town, Great Torrington is nestled within the Devonshire hills and is a heritage centre and lively community well worth a visit.

Known as Tarka Country, and captured by author Henry Williamson’s novel Tarka the Otter, the landscape has practically remained unchanged throughout the years.

Boasting an array of visitor attractions, the Tarka Trail cycle path that stretches for miles, a wonderful pannier market and selection of shops and traditional pubs, this is the perfect place to stay and explore, experiencing the welcoming atmosphere found here.

Torrington

Set in the midst of the Devonshire countryside, this historical market town is alive with culture and has a wealth of attractions. The town itself was significant in the English Civil War, and “Torrington 1646” is a fascinating museum, full of artefacts and where you can dress up in clothing of this period, and even try on a suit of armour!

There is a popular pannier market in The Square, where you can browse locally produced foods and crafts, and a Theatre if you fancy catching a show or recital. A museum in the Town Hall is also a fascinating insight into the town’s history.

Full of stunning cottage gardens, woodland trails and a lovely tearoom or restaurant to rest those tired feet, it is the most perfect locale to enjoy a relaxing day.
