Surrounded by resplendent Devonshire countryside, this bustling market town is full of history and character, with an interesting town square full of local antique and craft shops, and a busy farmer’s market every Thursday and Saturday. A museum, located in the town’s Guildhall has a wealth of artefacts and interesting collections, including an old fire engine from years gone-by.
Places of interest include a honey farm, the largest in the country, and where you can watch the bees working their magic, a museum with an array of interesting artifacts of bygone eras, and a climbing centre.
Venturing further afield, Exmoor National Park is a heather strewn expanse of glorious moorland, with over 1000km of bridleways and footpaths to be explored. Exmoor Zoo is also a popular destination, housing a variety of animals and birds, and even “The Exmoor Beast” can be found here! A perfect day out for families, young and old.
