Short Breaks


Most of the time our holiday properties book out for the Full week (7 nights), however there are times during some Off Peak periods or last minute where Short Breaks may be arranged with certain properties. They can be either 3, 4, 5 or 6 nights and are priced accordingly. Please remember that all short break enquiries have to be checked prior to booking, simply find your perfect cottage, get in touch and we will help finalise your enquiry either email or phone our Reservation Team .

Wells holidays

Wells is known as England’s smallest city, due to its impressive cathedral. The main part of the town is steeped in medieval history and modern Wells that surrounds this area has a good selection of shops and facilities.

The town is well positioned for walkers at the foot of the Mendip Hills, which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Its interesting limestone landscape has wooded areas, steep gorges and valleys rich in flowers and vegetation, with views over the Severn estuary and across Somerset.

The town is approx 20 miles (40 minute drive) from the long stretch of sandy beach at Weston-Super-Mare, with its attractive promenade and aquarium.

Wells offers a great selection of places to eat and drink including tearooms and café’s as well as restaurants and takeaways, ranging from well-known chains to independently run establishments. There’s a large selection of pubs to choose from, most of which provide good food and a welcoming atmosphere, with menu’s inspired by seasonal local produce.

This small city boasts a range of shops to suit all needs including bookshops, chemists, florists, gift shops, jewellers, music shops and galleries. The popular factory-shopping outlet at nearby Street has a selection of high street stores which offer well-known brands at discounted prices.

In the city and surrounding area you will find parks, recreational areas and a leisure centre with an indoor pool. Tennis and netball courts, bowling club and an 18-hole golf course. On the Mendips caving is a growing activity with many clubs giving guidance. Fishing and horse riding can also be enjoyed with many stables, rivers and lakes close by.

Wookey Hole Caves are open all year round and are situated only 3 miles from Wells. They are the legendary home of the wicked witch of Wookey with guided tours around the caves, a magical mirror maze, a penny arcade, restaurant and bar. Further afield you will find Longleat House and Safari Park, which is situated just 20 miles (40 minutes) from wells and has been voted the Attraction of the Year by the good Britain guide also the famous Cheddar Gorge and Caves are only 9 miles from wells with distinguishing caves and Britain’s largest natural gorge.

Events in wells range from Mayday celebrations to music festivals often centered around the Cathedral Green, The Royal Bath and West show takes place every year at the end of May and of course you will be within easy reach of the infamous Glastonbury Festival which held annually at Worthy Farm, Pilton at the end of June. Smaller summer concerts are held in the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey.
