These two delightful semi-detached cottages are set within the grounds of the owners' home, on the edge of this idyllic village, with impressive mediaeval Church, and breathtaking views over surrounding countryside. Being only 2 hours from London, the cottages make an easy 'get away from it all' holiday location.
Visit one of the many beautiful houses and gardens, Stourhead (National Trust) is a must and Longleat with its famous Safari Park is great fun for adults and children alike. For those who like a flutter, Wincanton Racecourse is just 3 miles away, or take the short drive to the south coast with sandy beaches such as Weymouth, Lyme Regis, Chesil Beach, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door being well worth a visit (all approximately 45 minutes drive). The cottages are both south facing and offer views over the surrounding garden with its small pond, to the fields beyond. Early risers have often spotted local wildlife, frequent visitors include deer, foxes and swallows return every year in summer, and the owner's own pets add to the country ambience. Walkers and cyclists are well catered for with circular routes direct from the cottages. If that seems too energetic, why not take a short drive to one of the many pubs/restaurants or just sit back, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful part of the country.
Shared utility: use of the adjacent laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen, towels, electric and central heating included (winter heating surcharge of £15 per week per property October - end March). 1 medium sized well-behaved dog by arrangement. No smoking in the cottages. Additional info: welcome pack on arrival. Regret no children under 12 or babies. Arrival: 4pm.
Bright and well laid out accommodation offering ONE bedroom: double with large fitted wardrobes and en-suite shower room with WC and heated towel rail. Lounge/diner: with TV/DVD and hi-fi. Kitchen: via a stable door with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and many useful extras. Outside: patio with garden furniture.
