As one of the UK’s largest counties, Devon is a great place to rent a 2-bedroom holiday cottage. Whether you’re a small family looking for an action-packed holiday by the sea or friends looking to relax and enjoy a more leisurely pace of life, Devon has something for everyone. With stunning, sandy beaches on the north and south coasts, you can build sandcastles, surf the waves or sunbathe with a good book before returning to your 2-bed holiday cottage and immersing yourselves in the rural tranquillity. Alternatively, you could take to the South West Coast Path and enjoy the far-reaching sea views and natural ruggedness. With five Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it’s no wonder that visitors are flocking to the region.
Devon is also lucky enough to have two national parks, Exmoor and Dartmoor, both of which have very different landscapes and terrain, so choosing a 2-bed self-catering cottage in mid-Devon will allow you to explore them both in equal measures. Surfers’ favourites, Woolacombe and Croyde in North Devon, are also ideal for a staycation as they have plenty to see and do as well as having gorgeous sandy beaches and rolling surf. In the south, the coast path connects traditional seaside towns and villages, which are all bustling with activity, such as Seaton, Teignmouth, Dartmouth and Salcombe. And don’t forget the popular holiday resort, the English Riviera, which encompasses Paignton and Torquay. For something more cosmopolitan, why not rent your 2-bedroom holiday cottage in the county’s capital, Exeter.
