House on the Hill Toy Museum, Essex

Why not relive your youth with a trip to the House on the Hill Toy Museum in Essex? The dream of Alan Goldsmith, this unique museum is packed full with over 70,000 toys dating from the Victorian era to the 1970s. As well as taking a stroll through the vintage toys, kids will also enjoy the Mountfitchet Castle experience as well as a haunted manor and dinosaur exhibition.

The Cumberland Pencil Museum, Cumbria

The Cumberland Pencil Museum is certainly one for craft lovers. In the heart of Cumbria, the pencil museum is a fantastic all-weather attraction for the entire family. Take a look at the making of a pencil, check out the world’s longest colour pencil or let the kids get creative in the art studio.

Teapot Island, Kent

For something a little more obscure, why not make a trip to Kent to visit Teapot Island, home to nearly 7,000 teapots, many of which are one of a kind. If you fancy a memento from your day there is a shop full of unique gifts and you can enjoy a cream tea and a sit down in the café. For something a little more creative you can also buy a selection of paint your own pottery.
