Boasting the second-oldest grapevine in the UK, you can rest assured that your wine accompaniment is going to be top-notch, and while you’re there, you must ask about their literary links to Charlotte Bronte and J.R. Also, it’s good to see how a different part of the country does your favourite dishes and find out if there’s a twist you weren’t aware of. So for these extremely valid reasons, you should book into one of the best Chinese restaurants in Filey, the Golden Dragon. They do an all-you-can-eat menu throughout the week so make sure you skip lunch.

Other places to eat in Filey
Thirty Coffee Shop
This cafe in Filey is a far cry from the greasy spoon establishments we sometimes conjure up when we think of grabbing breakfast or lunch on a British seaside holiday. From their specials which might include mushroom and halloumi on toasted sourdough with poached eggs to their homemade traybakes, Thirty Coffee Shop is a cut above the rest.
The cafe’s proximity to Filey Beach means it’s convenient for grabbing takeaway food and drinks to share on the sand during a day of North Yorkshire sunshine. But Thirty is also open in the evening on occasion; as part of the Filey Americana Festival, the cafe welcomes alternative music artists and award-nominated folk songwriters from across the pond.

This cafe/bar also has a vested interest in the local sea cadets, often putting on events and fundraisers to help the national youth charity. Captain Will’s is the kind of place you could enjoy for the entire day, savouring their cakes and barista concoctions in the coffee lounge before treating yourself to a pizza or their renowned cheese and charcuterie board in the evening.
