We believe you should feel as relaxed on holiday as you do at home, and that’s why we’re committed to ensuring our LGBTQIA+ guests are free to be themselves in our cottages.
Proud of our progress
At holidaycottages.co.uk, we are aware of our social and ethical responsibility. With a national network of over 14,000 holiday cottages and dozens of regional offices, we know that local communities are at the heart of our business.
We believe that it’s important to recognise the LGBTQIA+ community within these communities, especially in more rural areas which can be less diverse. So, for Pride Month, you’ll see rainbow flags in all our regional offices to visibly signal our support for LGBTQIA+ people in these areas.
As part of our long-term commitment to diversity through our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy, from June 2023, our staff will have the option to display their pronouns on their emails; we’ve taken this step to ensure we are using inclusive language in our business and all our team members can be addressed as they should be.
As well as this, we’ve provided allyship and unconscious bias training across our business, increasing understanding of different perspectives and giving our LGBTQIA+ colleagues a platform to share their lived experiences.
Holidays for everyone
We are proud to showcase the beautiful country we call home, and we’ve always highlighted the diversity of holidays on our doorstep, whether you’re seeking out a break by the coast, in the country or under a city skyline.
There are many reasons to explore the UK, and a celebration is one of them: whether it’s throwing a get-together for UK Pride Month 2023 in one of our large properties or visiting one of the many Pride parades or LGBTQIA+-friendly cities around the country.

Taking pride in our future
We know our local communities are as diverse as our holiday cottages, so we’re not stopping here. Through our ESG Committee, and with the help of our employee-led Diversity, Equity and Inclusion group, we are committed to becoming a more inclusive organisation for everyone, all year round.
