The Woodyard

Relatively small (but perfectly formed), the pub has an intimate, welcoming atmosphere, just what you want from a Bakewell pub. A cavernous, working tap room – home of Thornbridge Brewery – there is a great vibe in this pizza-serving, beer-loving establishment on the outskirts of Bakewell. Open every day from midday (with the shop open from 10am), good food swilled down with good beer is always accessible.

Live music, open-mic nights and other events pepper Thornbridge’s calendar. Rock up with Fido – four-legged friends are very welcome – and soak up the great atmosphere, while enjoying a jar or two of their perfectly conditioned wares. The Chakra Lounge

A flavour of the exotic in the heart of Bakewell, The Chakra Lounge serves Indian fusion dishes, prepared with traditional Indian spices to make your palate rejoice. Inspired by the owners’ native Amritsar, the menu features tempting options such as Bombay nachos, Amritsari chicken curry and a vegan bento bowl.
