Oban Chocolate Company, Scotland

Nestled on the esplanade of the pretty harbour town of Oban on the west coast of Scotland, the Oban Chocolate Company offers a tale of true family commitment to chocolate. Here you can enjoy the chocolatey aroma as the chocolatiers work hard, you can sneak a peek at the tasty goods through a viewing window. The café is the perfect spot to relax with some tasty treats, enjoying pretty views across Oban Bay. Oban Chocolate Company also offer short children’s workshops, where they can make their own Belgian chocolates – definitely a fun treat for the little ones!

The Chocolate Factory, Thornton-le-Dale, Yorkshire

With a chocolate shop at its heart, it’s not difficult to see why Thornton-le-Dale is considered one of Yorkshire’s prettiest villages. Set up in 2002 by chocolate-loving brothers, Gareth and Chris, The Chocolate Factory has appeared on TV several times and has been welcoming visitors with delicious Belgian chocolate delights. There’s also a second shop, found in Hutton-le-Hole.

Kennedy's Fine Chocolates, Cumbria

Family-run Kennedy's Fine Chocolates are based in the small village of Orton, between Kendal and Penrith, just outside of the Lake District National Park. Set in a picturesque location, the only way to make your trip even more special is to fill it with chocolate. With 90 chocolate varieties to choose from, you’ll no doubt struggle to pick your favourites. You’ll also find the shop bursting with other items such as jams, chutneys and biscuits.

The Appledore Chocolate Shop, Devon

From Cumbria, all the way to the North Devon coast in 2009, Kennedy's decided to open a shop in the pretty seaside village of Appledore. The quaint little shop is a real gem to stumble across along the narrow, winding roads of Appledore. Inside, enjoy a lovely range of Kennedy’s tasty treats along with ice creams and novelty chocolate items – perfect for taking a few gifts home after your holiday.

The Chocolate Cafe, Lancashire

This quirky little café in Ramsbottom adds a chocolate twist to every meal, from hot chocolate with your breakfast to a tasty chilli bowl with 100% cocoa for lunch! As for the nibbles, choose from white, milk, dark, strawberry and caramel chocolate buttons. What a way to spend a relaxing afternoon! If you’re not in the area anytime soon, don’t worry, you could order a chocolate pizza from The Chocolate Cafe online instead!

The Chocolate Musketeer, Dorset

Offering a delicious selection of handmade Belgian, English and Continental chocolates, The Chocolate Musketeer shop is found in the beautiful town of Sherborne in Dorset. Here you can see the delicacies for yourself but during the summer, you may also spot the Chocolate Musketeer at various events in the South West in their vintage Chocolate Musketeer Citroen H van!

Visit the chocolate café and indulge in tasty treats from chocolate kebabs to American style pancakes with chocolate shavings and chocolate drizzle. Sound tasty? The chocolate deli also serves a fantastic range of goodies to take away, but if you want to go a step further, the chocolate experiences are for you. A demonstration room looks into the factory where the chocolatiers are at work, and there’s also chocolate making machines!

Trenance Chocolate produces tasty delights every day of the week in their lovely factory in Mullion Cove. Set within the The Chocolate Factory and Craft Centre, this isn’t just a place to taste chocolate. Although we would highly recommend getting comfy in the café with Trenance hot chocolate, the friendly llamas also love having visitors!

We have over 600 holiday cottages in Cornwall and there are even have some close to Mullion Cove, so you could be a stone's throw away from all the chocolatey goodness!
