What makes this cottage special?

It’s a fire engine! Make every little aspiring firefighter’s dream come true with a night in the fire engine-shaped bed and a chance to slide down the fire pole. There’s an outdoor playground as well as firefighter outfits and a hose for children to play with at Red Rescue Retreat. You might expect to have to make some concessions while you’re living inside a van, but this place has plenty of room for a family of four – the owners have even fitted in a sauna for that extra touch of unexpected luxury in this play den.

Kibbear Farmhouse is one of our large cottages and sleeps 14 guests, making it perfect for family get-together or reunions with friends with young children.

An eight-seater hot tub, kitchen island, and garden seating offer even more places for socialising with the group in this beautiful Lake District property.

“Fabulous location with amazing views, it’s very remote which we loved up tiny roads so if you don't want to get away from it all this isn't for you. We loved the remoteness. A huge property which was fabulous for a family to spread out in so lots of space. Utility was a real bonus and fun was had in the hot tub. Simple, chic and elegant, Roscarna in Devon is a wonderful holiday let for relaxing retreat for eight guests and up to three dogs – ideal for the whole pack! A BBQ hut provides a sheltered, atmospheric space for a memorable evening’s dining, the hot tub will soothe aching muscles while the stylish wood burners provide warmth and complement the Scandinavian-style furnishings throughout.

Full of character, we love The Lodge – Hawkshead for its picturesque surroundings, two fireplaces (one an open fire and one a wood burner) and cosy spaces for huddling away with your loved ones. Families will find an atmosphere of warmth and welcome in this pretty country cottage and it’s in a fantastic location for exploring the shores of Windermere, and the local gem that is Wray Castle.

“The Lodge is a lovely old house in a splendid location. Close the west shore of Windermere and 10 minutes from Hawkshead. Its remote location adds to the charm. It has a useful live-in kitchen, master bedroom, fabulous family bathroom and two cosy bedrooms. The garden is lovely, safely enclosed and surrounded by woodland. Great for children and dogs.” – David

Four guests are welcome at Rayne Cottage and up to three dogs can join you too, no member of the family will get left behind. There’s a delightful outdoor space with outstanding views great for BBQs or evenings soaking in the hot tub, and sumptuous sofas allow everyone to snuggle together in front of a film after days out and about.
