Traditional character cottage with parking and BBQ. Situated on the edge Bodmin moor and perfectly located for exploring all the attractions of Devon and Cornwall.

Quietly tucked away on the edge of the glorious setting that is Bodmin Moor is the village of Altarnun with its local church where the wedding featured in Doc Martin was filmed. Providing easy access to the A30 linking Devon to Cornwall, to the north lies Boscastle and a little further away is Port Isaac. The closest towns with all the amenities one could ask for are Bodmin and Launceston or venture further afield where the stunning beaches of both the north and south coast are within easy reach. Nearby attractions include, The Eden Project, Adrenalin Quarry, Siblyback Segway adventure, Wesley Cottage at nearby Trewint, the hidden valley and for the cyclist, Cardinham woods and the Camel Trail.

Upon arrival enter the cottage into the large entrance porch, a perfect place to take morning coffee whilst enjoying the sunrise. From the porch, a door leads you into the well-equipped kitchen for all your holiday home cooking requirements. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave and breakfast bar. There is also a shower room with shower and WC located on the ground floor. A door from the kitchen leads you into the lounge where you can take time to relax after a busy day exploring the area and enjoy your favourite movie on the TV, or, for those winter evenings relax enjoying the warmth of the wood burner. Stairs from the lounge lead to the king-size bedroom with TV.

Heading outside, to the rear of the property is an enclosed courtyard garden with furniture and BBQ and to the front a traditional cottage garden with off-road parking two cars.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20 for up to 7 nights, £40 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20 for every week or part week thereafter.

Weather was seasonally wet, wild and windy; cottage was warm and welcoming. A wonderful week. Owner was friendly, generous and informative and made us really feel at home.

Hill Cottage is the perfect place for a Cornish break. The cottage is well laid and spacious with all necessary facilities available. We were made to feel extremely welcome and I would wholeheartedly recommend a stay here.

We liked lots of things about this property , it is perfectly located for North and South coast visiting , nice village that has a shop , friendly hosts , a wood stove as well central heating , would return here when we next visit cornwall.

Hill Cottage is just lovely - nicely decorated, warm and quite spacious for 2. It is well equipped and has a big comfy bedroom and super soft towels. A lovely little cottage feel, this property had good links to other areas of North Cornwall via A30 and yet retained a village feel. Very comfortable and well equipped. A nice touch was leaving us a cream tea, well received after our long journey. Tesco 10 minutes away and a local pub.

A very nice cottage whose owners have a great eye for detail. Centrally located so very easy to visit both north and south coasts. Lots of suggestions for things to do and one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in! Perfect for a couple and a dog.

Lovely and Homely cottage in a great location, homemade scone left for us on arrival. Owners very friendly and helpful but not overbearing. Beautiful area, lots of places to walk the dogs, especially enjoyed Bude centre and beaches and woods near Bodmin.

Hill Cottage was a lovely peaceful home from home. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and happy to share their local knowledge. The Cottage is in a great location to sightsee all that Cornwall had to offer. It also has a very nice friendly pub offering good value for money meals 5 mins walk away and a weekly van visits the village offering Read moredelicious fish and chips again only 5 mins walk.
