Stunning converted mill house within walking distance to the heart of the town of Padstow, famous as being Cornwall’s foodie capital.

This property is accessed via a farm lane, making it a fantastic, safe environment for children. However, despite its rural location the property is within walking distance to the centre of one of Cornwall’s most popular towns: Padstow. Padstow enjoys a reputation as a foodie haven with its many restaurants, plenty of which serve fresh local seafood. Perhaps the town’s most well-known resident is Rick Stein, who has made Padstow the base for his numerous business endeavours including a cookery school, shop, deli, bistro and fish and chip shop. Just across the estuary from Padstow, accessible by foot ferry, is the small town of Rock, with its beach and bars, making it a lovely place for a day trip.

This sympathetically converted mill house makes for a wonderful place to spend a Cornish holiday. The upside-down layout means that the main living space is located on the first-floor. This open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a superbly styled space, with a vaulted ceiling and a wood burner set in a corner fireplace where there was once an ornate window. There is a TV and DVD which can be enjoyed from the comfortable sofas and French windows just behind the dining table lead out to the small balcony. The kitchen area has an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, and microwave, as well as an attractive Welsh dresser. On the ground floor, guests will find the property’s two bedrooms: the first a double which also has an additional single bed, and the second a twin room. The bathroom is also located downstairs, and has a shower over bath and WC, whilst there is an additional separate WC. A downstairs lobby area is where guests can find the washing machine.

Outside, there is a garden with a terrace, which has outdoor furniture and a BBQ. There is off-road parking for two cars. Two dogs are welcome by arrangement at an additional charge. Guests may like to know that there is a sister property next door (THELI) should they like to holiday with friends or family.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Nice property in a nice quiet location, ideal for exploring the nearby beaches and of course Padstow.

The Old Mill is a lovely cottage and we enjoyed our holiday here. The second WC is only accessed from the outside which is not clear from the website description. Lovely beaches nearby.

A great location to walk to padstow through the touring park located close by which also has a shop. Driving to many beaches and coastal paths is easy and quick. The cottage is great to relax in, very quiet. If you arrive early stop at the street food vans on the Lane down to the cottage. Would certainly return as a perfect getaway.

Lovely cottage, sensitively renovated. Pleasant surroundings. Walking distance to Padstow, but would be helpful if there was access to the Saint's Way or the Camel Trail.

Tranquil, well maintained cottage, two good sized bedrooms. Loved the upstairs living room with views across farmland and estuary. Bathroom adequate but a bit tried compared to rest of property. Good parking but tight access.

The cottage is beautifully located at the end of a quiet track. There is a small wood and stream next to the property, which was very peaceful. The cottage was very warm, cosy and very nicely furnished. There was plenty of kitchen equipment and the bedding was also very cosy.

Nice location but lacked the finer details to warrant the money charged The balcony doors leaked It wasnt very clean, the bathroom is very tired and the main bedroom over cramped with beds We do Cornwall every year and for the money spent you can get a lot better

The property is set in a very peaceful, rural location. It provides all essentials. The wood burning fire was lovely and a log shed provided all we needed to keep cosy in the evening. I would not recommend walking to Padstow, as half of the walk is along a busy road, with no pavement. As well as Padstow, we visited St. Ives and Port Isaac. The bravRead moreer family members did the Camel Trail. Hide
