This outstanding property enjoys direct private access onto Downderry beach accessed via a gate at the end of the large garden.

The beach is perfect for family beach time and exploring the rock pools at low tide. It is also a haven for surfers and water sport lovers alike, with a small slipway giving access for those launching boats a short distance away. Perfect for families, this property boasts plenty of space inside and out. Approached by a private road, the house is set in a quiet, safe and peaceful location in the popular village of Downderry. The heart of the village has a beach side pub, an excellent restaurant, cafe and a small general store, all a short stroll away. Alternatively, head to the delightful fishing villages of Looe and Polperro or further afield to Padstow, Fowey or even St Ives. The area is popular with walkers and boasts lovely cliff-top walks along the dramatic Cornish coastline. There is plenty to do in this hidden corner of Cornwall, with The Eden Project, National Marine Aquarium, National Maritime Museum and numerous National Trust properties all within easy access for daytrips. Alternatively you could relax by enjoying a glass of wine, a BBQ or just taking in a summers evening by the waters edge.

The accommodation is furnished and equipped to a high standard and offers FIVE bedrooms: many with stunning sea views. Upstairs offers 1 king-size with child's single bed and en-suite bathroom with large separate shower and WC. 1 further king-size with child's single bed, en-suite bathroom with WC. Downstairs offers 3 king-size bedrooms, one of which contains an additional single bed. Bathroom: with large shower, bath and WC. Lounge: with large flatscreen TV, Sky HD TV, oak floor and adjacent conservatory with seating. Kitchen/diner: large and well-equipped with cooker, fridge, microwave and many useful extras. Utility room: leading from the kitchen with dishwasher, washing-machine, tumble dryer and separate WC. Further large fridge/freezer in out-building. Outside: large garden with seating and mobile BBQ. Amenities: ample parking. Bed linen, towels, electric, central heating and wi-fi included. Regret no smoking, pets or young single parties. Additional info: this property sleeps 10 adults and 2 children up to 12 years old plus infants. Highchair, cot with bedding and toys are provided free of charge upon request. A small welcome pack is provided for each stay. Location: beach, pubs and shops all within walking distance. Arrival: 4.30pm.

Greengates absolutely beautiful, cottage had everything that you could possibly want for a fantastic holiday. my twin granddaughters had a great time in the very safe garden , and the view of the beach and sea were breathtaking

beautiful views in a lovely safe environment. We had 16 month old baby with us and this house was idyllic. The garden was safe for him to run around in. it was well kept and simply stunning just like the entire house. Nothing was missing this was a perfect home from home.

An amazing property by the sea. Ideal for a family get together. Good for walking, local visits, food, restaurants, pubs. Why travel miles at home or abroad when this is available!

We chose this property for a family holiday with our three grownup children, their partners, and our four grandchildren. There was plenty of room and some pleasing touches, such as some toys. The large garden was a godsend, and it was very useful to be able to go down to the beach quickly on days when the weather was changeable.

A fabulously appointed property, being able to sit in the garden next to the sea and walk on to the beach is exactly what we wanted. There was plenty of outside furniture to move around so we could eat or relax in different places including the beach. Greengates is perfect for a family holiday with little ones. Very comfortable and well-equipped with plenty of safe space for everyone. It is lovely to have the village shop, a good pub and the beaches so close. Watch out for the seagulls which will have the toast out of your hand in the garden in a heartbeat!
