This charming Cornish cottage offers a tranquil hideaway while being perfectly located to make use of the local attractions and amenities.

Situated in the delightful village of Pentewan, the cottage is a short walk from the golden sandy beach and village pub and shops. Offering cycle hire and water sports facilities, this is a fantastic base from which to explore the local area. Mevagissey, the next cove along, is a quaint fishing village offering an authentic slice of Cornwall, while the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project, both nearby, make great days out. For those looking to do a bit of retail therapy during their stay, St Austell and its brand new shopping centre, White River Place, is just a short drive away.

Inside, the accommodation is both traditional and contemporary as exposed beams, cottage style stairs and low doorways and ceilings, combine with fresh decor and modern conveniences. The kitchen is typically Cornish in style and features an oven, hob, fridge with ice compartment, microwave, integrated dishwasher and washer/dryer. A round table and chairs sits in a cosy nook for delicious home-cooked meals. This area has a ceiling height of 6' which is low in compatison to the rest of the property. The sitting room is light and airy and offers ample seating in front of the open fireplace. Here you will find the TV/DVD and Wi-fi. Accessed via steep cottage style stairs you will find the master bedroom which has a double bed, hair dryer and a clock/radio, while the twin is equally as inviting with exposed beams and iron bed frames. The bedrooms share a family bathroom with bath, electric shower over and heated towel rail.

Outside, there is a small patio area to the front of the property with a table and chairs. This is a peaceful spot for enjoying al fresco meals and drinks.

Ivy Cottage was perfectly located and a lovely base for our family beach holiday. The house was well presented and equipped. It is a small cottage, but good for a small family as long as nobody is taller than average as the ceilings are low in part. Being able to walk to the beach was brilliant. the Cottage is very nice, cosy and fully equipped. Beach, village, pub and cafe is quite nice as well. We only missed a car park in front of the cottage, because it is quite difficult to find a parking space in the village during the day

We enjoyed our stay at Ivy Cottage. It was small but cosy and well equiped. Well situated also in a quiet street near the beach, the south-west coast path, the Lost Gardens of Heligan etc. But if you're a bit taller: mind your head! The ceiling is a bit low at some points.

Planning to stay again soon. Lovely area. Beautifully maintained listed cottage steeped in history. Nice touches on arrival. Apple juice, milk, tea, coffee, sugar and teacakes on the counter. Washing powder and condiments also in readiness. Also boasted a washer/dryer and dishwasher along with a new fan assisted oven which was a Godsend. Clean bed Read morelinen and towels provided. A stones throw from the beach and the 2 local pubs, The Ship and Into The Woods were fab. The food was so good in The Ship Hide

The cottage was great fro what we wanted and the village is fantastic, one pub, cafe and a shop. No amusements or lots of music, it was great. Beach is ok but i would say take surf socks as the stones cut :)
