Charming single-storey cottage tucked away in the quaint village of Metherell, an ideal place to stay for anyone seeking a peaceful break

Located on the border of Cornwall and Devon, this is an ideal base for touring both the north and south coasts and all the many treasures in between. From your doorstep there are a host of walks that lead you through the Tamar Valley, with its World Heritage status, and the rugged Dartmoor National Park. Cotehele National Trust property is less than a mile away. The historic town of Tavistock with its pannier market isn't far away and offers a wealth of restaurants, pubs, shops as well as cinema and swimming pool.

On entering this spacious single-storey property, which is located next to the Owners Georgian Country Home, you will be greeted with the beautiful wooden panelling and exposed beams and will find yourself in the inviting lounge/kitchen/dining area. You can relax in the cosy and welcoming lounge, with TV/DVD and snuggle up in front of the charming traditional wood burner. The dining area is pleasantly situated by the double French doors which lead out onto the patio. Moving across to the kitchen, you will find everything you will need including an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine. Just off the lounge/kitchen/diner you will find the comfy double bedroom complete with TV and en-suite shower room with WC.

Stepping outside from the living area, you can relax and unwind in the delightful enclosed garden with patio area, garden furniture and BBQ. You will also have access to the large shared exercise paddock for pets, and even a hot and cold outdoor shower for dogs. There is ample off-road parking available just outside the cottage for cars.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

Fantastic dog friendly cottage with great facilities on site including an easy access paddock for dog. Very well located venue to get around Cornwall. Great walks at Tamar Trails maybe 10 minutes drive away which includes a rugged mobility scooter to hire. Walk to pub with great beer and food a minute and a half away. Really quiet venue. The cottage was lovely and well equipped and the village is so quiet. The owners were great as were the resident dogs especially Frankie. Everything was well thought out with good information on things to do and places to eat overall a very pleasant stay

Another fantastic holiday - many thanks to JP, Fiona and the girls (especially Frankie)! This is what life ought to be about. Very friendly locals, great pubs within a few minutes walk and all within an area of outstanding natural beauty - the Tamar Valley. Love it!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Lantern, in Calstock, it was absolutely beautiful and there was plently to do. We visited many heritage sites,went for plently of long walks, visited Fowey, Gardens of Heligan and went shopping in Plymouth. Even though we went in the winter months, we still had a fantastic visit! We watched an amazing firework Read moredisplay on bonfire night in Calstock, we were made to feel welcome by the locals. There were plently of factilities nearby. Hide
