Located on the Cornwall and Devon border, an ideal base for touring both the north and south coasts and beyond. From your doorstep there are a host of walks that lead you through the Tamar Valley with its World Heritage status and the rugged Dartmoor National Park. Cotehele National Trust property is within 1 mile. The historic town of Tavistock with its pannier market offers a wealth of restaurants, pubs, shops as well as cinema and swimming pool.

Spacious self-contained wing of a farmhouse with beautiful wood panelling and exposed beams throughout offering ONE bedroom: double with wall mounted TV, Freeview and en-suite shower room with Velux and WC. Lounge/kitchen/diner: open-plan with flatscreen TV with DVD and Freeview, iPod dock, ample seating around the woodburner (first basket of logs included), dining area and double french doors leading onto the patio. Kitchen area is well-equipped with electric cooker and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and separate freezer. Washing machine housed in separate cupboard. Outside: enclosed patio with garden furniture and BBQ, access to a large shared exercise area for pets. Amenities: off-road parking just outside the cottage. Bed linen, towels, electric and central heating included during summer months (October - April an extra £20 per week fuel charge payable to the owner on arrival). Wi-fi available. 2 dogs welcome (regret no dangerous breeds). Regret no smoking within the property. Additional info: local food can be ordered by Tuesday for delivery to the holiday let on Friday and special offers at the local pub are available, please enquire for details. Hot and cold outdoor dog shower available. Waitrose, Tesco and Asda deliver to this address. Location: beach 15 miles, shop 2 miles, 2 pubs within walking distance.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Lantern, in Calstock, it was absolutely beautiful and there was plently to do. We visited many heritage sites,went for plently of long walks, visited Fowey, Gardens of Heligan and went shopping in Plymouth. Even though we went in the winter months, we still had a fantastic visit! We watched an amazing firework Read moredisplay on bonfire night in Calstock, we were made to feel welcome by the locals. Top notch. Superb little getaway which is more than dog friendly due to the owners JP and Fiona and the extended Labrador family - the girls. Really lovely cottage but wouldn't recommend if you want to explore Cornwall rather than Devon. We spent a lot of money on petrol! Very nice cottage but could really do with a good dust! Not as clean as I would have liked. full of cobwebs, dusty, dirty utensils from previous guests.

The cottage is in a very peaceful location of the village and is ideal for a relaxing break. Great little cottage and it was fun getting list the first few days. The dog exercise area was great and the owner introduced his dog to ours so it was pleasant to exercise our greyhound. The situation was great for accessing the rest of Cornwall.. The cottage was well equipped with owner providing washing up liquid etc. Very handy.

A well resourced, very attractive cottage for two. Perfectly proportioned, with a lovely owner attached. We had a smashing few days away from the mad city life of Redruth, Cornwall.
