Set within Dartmoor National Park and nestled within a beautiful hidden valley, this property offers peace, relaxation and the perfect base to explore the moors and south coast.

Although the cottage will feel like it is in a different world, a pub (serving food) is just a ten minute walk away with a large selection of shops, restaurants and cafes in Bovey Tracey. The forest, surrounding the property, is a haven for wildlife and offers a range of walks straight from your front door. Tottiford, Trenchford and Kennick reservoirs are all within walking distance or a short drive away with National Trust properties nearby. Easy access onto Dartmoor highlights such as Haytor, Houndtor and Widdecombe-on-the-Moor. Visit beautiful coastal locations such as Teignmouth, Shaldon, Torquay and Dartmouth. The cathedral city of Exeter is just a 30 minute drive away or why not take a scenic railway journey there from Newton Abbot train station.

This charming ground floor apartment which forms part of the main farmhouse, offers open plan living space and a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC. Enjoy wildlife, observing birds feeding just outside your window. Wi-fi is available and the cottage has a 32-inch Freeview TV and DVD Player. If you choose to stay in and cater for yourselves, the kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge with small freezer compartment and a microwave.

Outside your cottage is a small private seating terrace along with large gardens to explore with additional seating areas (with BBQ) right by the stream. The games barn (new for 2019) which includes a Home cinema system, has bi-fold doors which can be fully opened in good weather and a large wood-burning stove for the cooler evenings. If you bring dogs with you there is a dedicated fenced paddock area they can enjoy. You will also find a wood burning outdoor kitchen.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

  • The home cinema system in the games room and outdoor kitchen in the guest seating area will be bookable for evenings during your stay using a token system. Due to the current situation, the outside areas, games barn and laundry facilities will all still be available where social distancing guidelines can be adhered to. Antibacterial wipes and hand sanitiser will be provided for guests to use before and after using these facilities.

Cottage is at the end of a long narrow lane only room for 1 car but when you reached it, the setting was lovely very quiet

We had a fantastic time at this cottage. Lovely peaceful location but easy to get out and about. Great facilities at the farm. Beautiful hidden gem on the edge of Dartmoor, fantastic scenery and woodland walks. The property offers woodland walks right outside the door and so was perfectly located for our German Shepherd dog. There is also a fabulous games barn for the use of visitors; we used it on several occasions to play table tennis, darts and pool - all to the sounds of Bob Marley amid the heat of a roaring log burner. Cottage was extremely clean, the level of spec was excellent and the welcome pack great, proprietors were very helpfull and is highly recommended. Please be aware some of the Devon lanes are very narrow but were never a problem.

The property sits in quiet setting just what you need after the hustle of everyday life very friendly owners always ready to help if needed. Nice welcoming package of home made scones complete with cream and jam and fresh milk for your tea or coffee, treats for the dog so they do'nt feel left out.

A lovely quiet place with wildlife around. We loved the birds visiting the bird feeders outside our window. It was well placed for the places that we wanted to visit.

We had a really enjoyable week in this property which is in a very beautiful setting. We were made very welcome and looked after very well. The bird feeders provided a lot so entertainment and all you could hear at the property was bird song. I'm sure we will return.

The was a lovely holiday cottage, Kenneth & Sarah we're lovely, welcoming and helpful. The surrounding were beautiful and quiet. When we went the bluebells were in bloom. I sat outside for breakfast it was so peaceful. Whether you just want to spend all day relaxing there or wanted to visit local areas then it was just perfect. We had a wonderful relaxing break at Bluebells Cottage. Kenneth and Sarah made us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble and the home made scones were delicious. Hosts Ken and Sarah welcomed us with scones and a cream tea on arrival, and even helped us navigate our way home through the snow-covered lanes. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life to just relax and be entertained daily by squirrels and the many birds that visited the feeders outside our cottage, this place is perfect.
