Rowan Cottage was the ideal place for me to use as a base to scramble over the Cuillin. Access to the southern 8 peaks was entirely on foot. (NB. Use a guide if you're hitting the tops). Skye gave me the best and worst of it's weather and when it poured, the conservatory was a warm and light place to sit. When the sun shone, the view of the hills wRead moreas majestic. Photos don't do it justice. The only drawback for some might be the 250m walk to and from the parking spot. Thoroughly recommended. Hide

We have stayed here twice now and will definitely return next year too. The cottage has everything one could need, it is cosy, sparklingly clean, with awesome views of the Cuillins. Perfect for a couple or solo travellers. We love the peace and tranquility of this cottage.

The cottage was very comfortable in a beautiful setting. The owner was lovely. There was however a somewhat difficult path up to the cottage that made getting our suitcase and shopping up to the cottage very difficult. I wasn't bothered by the fact that there wasn't Wi-Fi, but in a place with no phone signal a landline phone could've been helpful fRead moreor us to let our families know we had arrived safely, rather than having to drive 45 minutes for mobile signal.
