A cosy characterful cottage in a super location, set in its own woodland with a stream running through it. It was an ideal base to access the nearby Munroes,, Corbetts and Grahams, and glorious beaches.

We had a fantastic week at Darrach cottage, and managed to get there by public transport or bike. The nearest shop is only half a mile away and theres another in the village, as well as the famous pie shop. We did several beauttiful walks, including the 4 miles or so to Achmelvich, starting on the path behind the cottage. The beds are comfy, and weRead more had everything we needed. Its cosy and homely. We enjoyed our stay in the cottage very much. The secluded location suited us well. We have been in the area before and enjoyed beautiful walks. Shopping facilities in Lochinver are good and we did some nice cooking. Everything we needed was provided and worked well.

Four of us enjoyed our stay in Darrach Cottage. It is quite quirky. The bathroom and loo are up a steep and narrow staircase. It was heated by night store heaters and a multi fuel stove. The charcoal BBQ was really useful in the surprisingly good weather we had during our week stay in July

We felt it wasn't for us. If you love complete isolation, and are a very strong walker, then it's for you. We felt that the cottage could do with updating, and items replaced such as furniture and other items. Our second visit to Darrach and as before, we loved the house and the area. The location of the cottage is fantastic, secluded but sunny with views of Suilven and Canisp.
