  • A few miles from local beaches at Westward Ho!, Northam Burrows and Instow
Property code: MASTR

Appledore, is where boats bob in the town’s quay, and where there are range of tempting eateries to choose from. In the summer months, a ferry runs across the estuary to the village of Instow, home to a yacht club and a pleasant partially sandy beach, alternatively it is just a short drive away. A larger beach, the two-mile wide stretch of sand at Westward Ho! is just three miles away, whilst the harbour town of Bideford, with its charming cobbled streets, well regarded restaurants, and treasure trove of shops lies just four miles to the south.

As soon as guests enter this property, they will immediately get a feel for how homely and welcoming the cottage feels. The lounge/diner perfectly demonstrates this, with exposed beams, wood burner, wooden floor and comfortable seating. The Freeview TV/DVD and Bluetooth speaker means that guests can happily relax and enjoy cosy nights in, after long days of exploring. The kitchen is located just off the lounge/diner, and is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with ice compartment and a washing machine, giving guests the choice of whether they want to cook or go out and enjoy the village’s restaurants and pubs. There is a steep set of open-tread stairs which lead from the ground floor up to the first floor accommodation. Here, they will find a lovely double room with feature fireplace. There is also a snug room on the first floor, which offers guests a fantastic place to sit back with a book and enjoy this room’s stunning views across the estuary and out to sea. There is a shower room with shower and WC.

  • Beach 2 miles, pub and shops within walking distance
  • Regret no infants, the property has steep cottage-like stairs and not suitable

Super little cottage in a convenient location kept in a lovely condition by the owner and caretaker. The road from the nearby carpark is level and at 30 a week was ideal, The wood burning stove made the sitting room very cosy on wet autumn evenings. I loved the first floor cwtch; watching the tidal changes of the estuary, sunrises, sunsets plus theRead more activities of sailors and birds much more enjoyable than TV. The cottage is in my list for a revisit maybe in the spring Hide

The cottage is in a nice location, perfect for two and Appledore is a nice place to stay. There are local pubs and places to eat within very close proximity to the cottage.
