Waterfront property enjoying a fantastic location right on the River Torridge in the historic town of Bideford, with shops, pubs, and the town’s harbour all within walking distance.

This property is located right on the River Torridge in the harbour town of Bideford in North Devon. Bideford is a popular town, thanks to its pretty, cobbled streets, interesting range of independent shops, well-regarded eateries, and the town’s attractive harbour, from where a choice of interesting boat trips depart. One of the most interesting of these trips, is the ride out to Lundy, a beautiful wildlife-rich island in the Bristol Channel, which is accessed via an enjoyable two-hour trip on the historic MS Oldenburg. For many, a trip to Devon would be incomplete without a trip to the beach, and visitors to the area will not be disappointed with the impressive two-mile wide sandy beach at Westward Ho!, which is located just three miles from the property.

As soon as guests enter this contemporary waterfront property, they will be instantly drawn to the river views which can be enjoyed from the lounge/diner. Patio doors lead from here out to the riverfront patio, and there is also a dining table seating four, sofa seating, a TV/DVD, and CD player. The property’s kitchen, though modest, is well-equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and washer/dryer, although there are so many restaurants and pubs in Bideford, that guests may choose to take a break from cooking altogether. There is also a convenient cloakroom with WC on the ground floor. On the first floor of the house, there are two bedrooms, the first of which is a delightful double room which enjoys river views, whilst the second bedroom is a restful twin room. The bathroom, meanwhile, has a shower-over-bath and WC. Outside, there is an enclosed patio to the rear of the property which enjoys fantastic river views, and offers a BBQ and garden furniture. This is a wonderful space in which to enjoy alfresco meals, sit back and watch the boats go by, or even try your luck at fishing over the river wall. There is off-road parking for one car directly in front of the property.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lovely location, views from property are superb. Although the furniture is a little dated this didn't distract from the holiday and we would certainly recommend this property. Was ideal for taking a dog as it has its own enclosed garden so dog could go in and out without any worries on my part of him getting out and lost. Perfect location. Quiet area with an amazing view of the river. Nice walk into town. Cosy and warm. Loved the little touches, like biscuits, teas, coffee, milk and toilet rolls on arrival. Would definitely stay again.

This is an ideally situated holiday home which is only a 10 minute walk away from the heart of Bideford. It is cosy and 4 adults staying there would need to be friendly as it is not overly endowed with space. Being able to sit in the back garden and watch the tide ebbing and flowing and boats on the water is nothing short of utopia. We had a wonderful break in this fantastically located cottage. Visiting friends, it was the perfect base from which to explore and in which to relax. The added touches of milk, tea, coffee and biscuits were welcoming and like the washing up liquid and toilet rolls most appreciated. Thank you.

A great base to stay for exploring North Devon. Lovely walk along the river into Bideford and within easy driving distance to Westward Ho! Appledore and Clovelly.
