Rural property situated on the owner’s 17-acre farm in North Devon, just a few minutes’ drive from Exmoor National Park, which offers over 1000km of scenic footpaths.

This property enjoys a tranquil rural location in the midst of the Devonshire countryside. Two miles from the property is the village of Bampton, which offers an array of handy shops including a traditional butchers’, bakery, chemist, greengrocer plus two convenience stores, one with a Post Office. There is also a choice of eateries in the village, so the pressure is off when it comes to cooking. Three miles north of the property lies Exmoor National Park, where there are scenic walking routes to suit all abilities, ranging from gentle strolls to challenging long-distance hikes. Other attractions within easy reach of the property include the expansive beach at Minehead, the cathedral city of Exeter, and the medieval village of Dunster with its ancient castle. Approaching this property down a quiet country lane, guests will immediately appreciate the secluded surroundings which allow them to escape the stresses of day-to-day life. The homely lounge/diner at the centre of property offers a dining table seating six, comfortable seating, an electric fire, TV, and DVD. Just next to this room is the kitchen, where guests will find everything they need to make themselves at home including an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. For those who need to do laundry, there is a washing machine and tumble dryer located in a separate utility room. The property’s two bedrooms are located at either end of the property, both of which are twin rooms. One of these has an additional small room adjacent where there is space for a cot, and this room also has a handy WC and hand basin located just off from it. The bathroom, meanwhile, offers a shower-over-bath and WC. Outside, the property enjoys a well-maintained garden which has two distinct areas: an enclosed lawn, and a patio seating area with garden furniture. Fantastic rural location. This was our second visit because we enjoyed it so much the first time. We would definitely go back again. Close to the lovely village of Bampton and well located for exploring both North and South Devon.

First visited in 1991, we have been back to South Hayne on numerous occasions. The 'magic' ingredients that have made us return each time are the peace and tranquillity of the cottage's immediate environment; the warmth of the welcome; and the beauty of Exmoor - indeed, of that whole part of Devon. And the farm's cider (called Chucklehead) is not bRead moread too!!! Hide
